South Korea exported S$15.28 billion of information and communication technology (ICT) products in February, representing an 11.5 percent on-year jump and the ninth consecutive month of increase.
It was also the second-highest amount of monthly ICT goods shipments for February, next to the $15.68 billion worth in 2018, based on data compiled by the Ministry of Science and ICT.
Imports last month reached $9.19 billion, resulting in a trade surplus of $6.09 billion.
Chips exports reached $8.44 billion, rising 12.5 percent on-year, due to continued global demand for memory and logic chips.
Memory chips exports reached $5.22 billion, advancing 12.6 percent on-year, while logic chips soared 13.2 percent to $2.7 billion.
Exports of display surged 22.3 percent to $1.62 billion, while those of mobile phones and parts advanced 15 percent to $1.03 billion.
However, shipments of computers and related components plunged 5.6 percent to 1.07 billion.
Exports to China, including Hong Kong, registered a 13.6 percent on-year jump to reach $7.02 billion, while those to the US rose 6.7 percent on-year to 1.82 billion won.
Meanwhile, shipments to Vietnam dipped 0.8 percent to $2.31 billion.
South Korea's total exports for February increased 9.5 percent on-year.
