PITTSBURGH, Sept. 18, 2017 -- II‐VI Incorporated (NASDAQ:IIVI), a leading provider of transceiver-embedded optical amplifiers, today announced that Dr. Sanjai Parthasarathi, Vice President of Product Marketing and Strategy, Optical Communications Group, will be a speaker at the ECOC 2017 Market Focus event taking place in Gothenburg, Sweden, on Wednesday, September 20, 2017. The talk will review emerging highly compact amplification solutions for coherent transmission.
High bit rate coherent transmission is one of the fastest growing segments of the optical networking market, especially driven by pluggable coherent transceivers for metro and data center interconnects. Increasingly complex transmission formats and silicon technologies require compact, low noise amplification solutions to overcome modulation losses. The talk will assess emerging compact amplification solutions focusing on enabling components such as pump lasers, hybrids, tunable filters and their integration.
II-VI will exhibit at ECOC 2017 in booth #252 and will showcase the most recent additions to its broad portfolio of differentiated solutions for optical networks. These will include:
- The small form-factor dual interleaver platform for high bit rate transmission and emerging applications in optical access networks.
- The Flexible Structure Optical Module (FlexSOM) Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier (EDFA) platform designed to enable ultra-compact amplification in next-generation 100, 200 and 400G coherent transceivers.
- The Optical Line Subsystem platform for datacenter interconnects (DCI), which is optimized for direct-detect DWDM transceivers, including the new COLORZ-Lite™ 100G PAM4 platform from Inphi Corporation (NYSE:IPHI).
II-VI’s Optical Line Subsystem and Inphi’s COLORZ-Lite™ 100G PAM4 platforms will be jointly demonstrated at ECOC 2017 at Inphi’s booth #337.
