PITTSBURGH, Sept. 01, 2016 -- The II-VI Photop Group of II-VI Incorporated (NASDAQ:IIVI), a leading provider of high performance optical filters, today announced the commercial availability of its wide angle bandpass filters with low angle-dependent wavelength shift for 3D sensing applications.
The consumer electronics and automotive industries are increasingly adopting 3D sensing technologies in their products. II-VI Photop’s wide angle bandpass filters allow sensors to precisely isolate laser signals reflecting off objects or people that are digitally reconstructed in three dimensions. The filter’s low angle-dependent wavelength shift maximizes 3D sensing performance capabilities over broad angle scans.
“II-VI Photop is leveraging its optical coating technology leadership in industrial, medical and communications markets to deliver high quality filters in high volume for emerging consumer applications,” said Vincent Lin, Director of Sales and Marketing, II-VI Photop. “Our wide angle bandpass filters complement our laser technology platforms available from II-VI Laser Enterprise, to serve the growing demand for 3D sensing.”
II-VI Photop’s wide angle bandpass filters are available to match lasers with wavelengths in the 830 to 1100 nm range such as vertical cavity surface emitting lasers (VCSELs) and edge emitting semiconductor laser diodes.
II-VI Photop will showcase its wide angle bandpass filters at CIOE, Sept. 6-9, 2016, in Shenzhen, China, at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center, Booth # 1B51.
