In Search Of Mysterious Bitcoin Founder, Satoshi Nakamoto

An Australian entrepreneur Craig Wright on Monday claimed to be the creator of digital currency revolution Bitcoin.

Craig Steven Wright has become known last December when both Wired and Gizmodo reported that he might be Satoshi Nakamoto. The Australian based computer programmer claimed in interviews with the BBC, The Economist and GQ to be the currency’s progenitor.

Satoshi Nakamoto has been a pseudonym. Eight years ago, the person invented the digital currency Bitcoin and then disappeared. To many, the name Satoshi Nakamoto rings of mystery. Although the name came from a white paper about Bitcoin released in November 2008, no one knows who he/she or they is apart from that he is the creator of Bitcoin.

Wright, 45 years old said that he now wanted to “dispel any negative myths and fears” about the virtual currency. He mentioned that, “I cannot allow the misinformation that has been spread to impact the future of Bitcoin.”

In Wright’s personal blog, it has been mentioned that, he holds a doctorate in theology and has submitted his completed thesis for his second doctorate in computer science. He also holds several masters' degrees and has written books about systems audits and IT regulations and compliance. He has also been having several senior executive positions with companies focused on cryptocurrency and smart contracts.

Meanwhile, many technical experts and Bitcoin developers, said that Mr. Wright’s evidence did not prove he was the creator of Bitcoin digital currency, identified by the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto. But if his claims prove true, Mr. Wright could help shape the debate over the future of Bitcoin.
