STAMFORD, Conn., Jan. 30, 2017 -- Independence Holding Company (NYSE:IHC) today announced that it repurchased 290,000 shares of its common stock for $5.8 million in a private transaction. IHC has also been repurchasing stock in open-market purchases from time to time under its repurchase program, as determined by management based on market conditions, regulatory requirements and other corporate considerations.
