TAMPA, Fla., March 15, 2017 -- Insight (NASDAQ:NSIT) has committed to sponsoring the renovation of the former administration building of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Tampa Bay (RMHC-TB) to repurpose it into a community resource space. The new space will be used as both a meeting place and training area for volunteers before they start their official duties, whether it is cooking for families or other specialty projects for RMHC-TB houses.
Insight team members work monthly with RMHC-TB to feed and serve those in need. In 2016 alone, their contributions and service has aided over 400 children and their families in the local community.
“Between providing meals and underwriting some major projects, our friends at Insight have become a valuable partner to us,” said Janice Davis, Executive Director and CEO of RMHC of Tampa Bay. “In 2015, for example, Insight helped renovate the dining room in the St. Pete East House, our largest and busiest house. We are thankful to Insight for underwriting this large effort, as the dining room is the meeting point where our families come together after a long day at the hospital and share emotional support with each other.”
“As Insight gives back to the communities we work in, RMHC-TB’s mission fits with our core value of heart where we look beyond ourselves to dedicate time toward positive contributions to the community. Receiving the thank you letters from the families we served was especially rewarding,” said Mariano Dy-Liacco, Vice President Services, U.S. at Insight. “It has been an exciting year for both of our organizations, and I am honored to be the executive sponsor for RMHC-TB.”
In 1980, RMHC-TB was the first Ronald McDonald house built in Florida. In its more than 35 years of service, RMHC-TB has aided more than 52,000 families in need of comfort and care while their child undergoes medical treatment at a local hospital. At least 2,000 families come through the doors of RMHC-TB’s four houses (three in St. Petersburg and one in Tampa) annually.
Insight also participates in and contributes to a variety of charities and causes in Tampa, including Angels of Tampa, Feeding Tampa Bay, All Children’s Hospital, Food Drive for the Troops, the Humane Society Food/Blanket Collection and the Central Florida Strollathon. Aligning with the core value of ‘Heart,’ these philanthropic efforts are part of Insight’s North American community outreach program, Reach, in which Insight supports organizations that provide technology-driven educational opportunities for children. Insight’s community service was recently recognized by Dell in its Dell EMC - Philanthropic Partner of the Year award.
