Dylan (Alan Cumming) and Lizzie (Bojana Novakovic) are soon back to solving heinous crimes with very absurd details of the case in “Instinct” season 2 episode 1. However, the former CIA operative has another major thing going: their application to adopt a child.
Fans will have to wait a few more weeks to see how this will play out for Dylan. The “Instinct” season 2 episode 1 synopsis does not say much about it, but it assures viewers that Dyland and his husband Andy (Daniel Ings) remain adamant in adopting a child.
Dylan and Andy’s hopes of getting approved to adopt a child had been a recurrent storyline in the show’s rookie run. Several developments became part of the season 1 finale with a social worker finally conducting an in-house interview of the couple, though it was not as perfect as Dylan had hoped. Now, it is interesting to see if “Instinct” season 2 episode 1 will open the show’s second installment with great news for the main protagonist.
While remaining hopeful to finally become a father, Dylan will definitely spend “Instinct” season 2 episode 1 solving another bizarre case with Lizzie. The new season opens with the death of a businesswoman.
Nothing about the cases that Dylan and Lizzie solve are typical. In this upcoming case, the duo will likely dig deeper into the victim’s involvement in a project that aims to prolong human life. “Instinct” season 2, episode 1 is titled “Stay Gold.” Gold has been associated with the practice of alchemy. It is then possible that the victim’s participation in such activities is the main lead of the case.
The “Instinct” season 2 episode 1 teaser also confirms the introduction of Ryan Stock (Travis Van Winkle), an ex-military and currently working as a detective in Nebraska. A local case of a possible serial killer brings him to Manhattan. Reports have it that Van Winkle signed for a recurring role, this could mean that the case opening in the premiere could be a running storyline of the new season.
“Instinct” season 2 episode 1 was originally set to premiere this weekend. However, CBS has since issued it a new schedule on Sunday, June 30 at 9 p.m. ET.
