Italy’s official statistics office, Istat, today released the country’s wage inflation data for the month of October. The coverage rate, which is the share of national collective agreements in the force for the wage setting aspects, came in at 32.1 percent in terms of employees and 31 percent in terms of the total amount of wages at the end of October of this year, noted Istat.
The hourly index on a sequential basis rose 0.1 percent, whereas per employee index remained same from the previous month in October. On a year-on-year basis, Italy’s wage inflation rose 0.6 percent in October, the same as in September, while per employee index rose 0.5 percent.
In the January to October 2016 period, Italy’s hourly index rose 0.7 percent, whereas per employee index was up by 0.6 percent as compared to the same period in 2015.
