Ivanka Trump, US President Donald Trump’s daughter and senior political adviser, was port of the POTUS’ delegation during his first two-day state visit to India. During her brief stay in the country, Ivanka regularly updated her millions of social media followers by posting pictures taken throughout her trip.
One of her most recent posts is a picture of her and Jared Kushner. Ivanka was holding hands with her husband with the Taj Mahal and its reflective pool as the background. According to NDTV, it was the same spot where Amazon’s Jeff Bezos was recently photographed together with his girlfriend Lauren Sanchez.
“Thank you India!” she captioned the post while thanking the hospitality of the host country as well. “The grandeur and beauty of the Taj Mahal is awe-inspiring!” Ivanka captioned a previous post that also showed the iconic landmark.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also thanked the couple on social media for visiting the South Asian country. “India is happy to have hosted Jared and you [Ivanka],” Modi wrote, according to Express. “Your liking towards India is clearly visible.”
“My best wishes to you in your endeavours to further empowerment and enterprise amount women. Hoping to see you both back in India soon!” Modi added. Ivanka Trump is known for her work on women empowerment through job creation, entrepreneurship, and skills training, according to Newsweek.
“Thank you, PM Narendra Modi, for your warm hospitality as we visited your beautiful country and celebrated the strength, spirit, and unity of the US & India!” Ivanka responded to Modi’s tweet. “Throughout our visit, we saw monumental achievements of human creativity & proof of the infinite capacity of the human heart!”
However, Ivanka’s critics were not too happy with the trip. “Millions and millions of taxpayers do not support Ivanka and Jared spending precious government money to network their brand and globe-trot,” a Twitter user posted.
“You brag about making $80m plus last year yet you have to take a vacation on the taxpayer’s dime, most of them making less than $40K a year. Nice job,” another one commented on the social media platform.
