Doctors, nurses, and healthcare workers are at the frontline of the U.S. government’s battle against the coronavirus pandemic that continues to spread across the nation. To recognize and express her gratitude for their hard work, Ivanka Trump posted an encouraging tweet for all medical professionals out there.
Ivanka Trump posted a photo of nurses and doctors urging the public to help them stop the COVID-19 pandemic that has gripped the entire world. In the photo, the medical staff can be seen showing signs that read “We stay here for you [heart] please stay home for us!” according to Pop Culture.
The senior White House advisor also thanked medical professionals who are putting themselves at risk while helping others. “God bless the doctors, nurses, healthcare workers & first responders whose tireless dedication and sacrifice protect our collective health + safety,” Ivanka wrote on Twitter.
Ivanka also encouraged her followers to practice social distancing as recommended by the CDC. “Practice social distancing & save lives! Follow all CDC guidelines and please, please stay home if you are able! ❤️ #TogetherApart,” she added.
Ivanka is no stranger to social distancing herself. Last week, she opted to work from home when she came into contact with Australian home affairs minister Peter Dutton when he visited Washington earlier. The Australian official later tested positive for the COVID-19 upon his return to his country.
As a precautionary measure, Ivanka opted to work from home last week. “She worked from home today out of an abundance of caution until guidance was given,” the White House said in a statement.
However, it was not deemed necessary for her to undergo COVID-19 testing despite coming into contact with Dutton. “Exposures from the case were assessed and the White House Medical Unit confirmed, in accordance with CDC guidance, that Ivanka is exhibiting no symptoms and does not need to self-quarantine,” the White House added.
Since the virus’ arrival on U.S. soil, it continued to spread across the country. Even Hollywood celebrities were not spared. Idris Elba, Daniel Dae Kim, Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson have tested positive for the virus.
