There are still plenty of ways “Jack Ryan” season 3 could be set up following the events of Jack (John Krasinski) and James Greer’s (Wendell Pierce) last mission. However, it might offer an interesting personal dilemma for Jack if Cathy Mueller (Abbie Cornish) and Harriet Baumann (Noomi Rapace) would come back considering his relationships with these female characters.
‘Jack Ryan’ season 3 plot, cast
Some fans might not have been convinced with the chemistry of Cathy and Jack in this iteration of “Jack Ryan.” But many were still surprised that the former mysteriously did not appear in the second season. Meanwhile, Jack shares a brief intimate moment with Harriet earlier in the season before they went on a mission of finding an assassin, who also happens to be Harriet’s real love interest and former asset. But what are the possibilities they would both return in “Jack Ryan” season 3?
For Cathy Mueller, there might not be much need for her to come back considering what happened in season 2 and how it set up Jack’s character development moving forward to “Jack Ryan” season 3. Jack was all business while running around different parts of the world chasing down bad guys.
It even felt like the lack of mention of Cathy’s character was indicative of how the show does not have much time to spare within an eight-episode run for Jack to worry about his love life. However, not mentioning what happened to his relationship with Cathy might even be a good thing to easily bring her back in “Jack Ryan” season 3.
On the other hand, Harriet belongs in the same world as Jack. In terms of building the plot for “Jack Ryan” season 3, so it could be much easier to have them meet each other again. Whether or not a romance will bud further is unknown, but it could really be a refreshing sight to see Jack having personal struggles if a love triangle plot emerges, as some reports suggest, in the next season.
‘Jack Ryan’ season 3 release date
Fans will have plenty of time to wonder about Jack’s next adventures work-wise and in his personal life. While many are rooting for “Jack Ryan” season 3 to premiere this year, it is unlikely that the show will have enough time for filming and post-production before the end of 2020.
It is also unlikely for the cast and crew to work on “Jack Ryan” season 3 anytime soon due to COVID-19. This suggests that wait for new episodes could very well be extended to 2021 or even 2022.
