The “Just Cause” series is one of those franchises that takes concepts that a lot of players love and then cranks it up to eleven. With destructive gameplay, an absolutely mind-blowing number of weapons to choose from, and a reward system that encourages players to cause as much chaos as possible, the games by “Avalanche” just hit the spot for certain players. Unfortunately, even the latest iteration of the series “Just Cause 3” was missing multiplayer mode, which is the one aspect that many fans are salivating over. This led to the creation of a mod that is set to allow mindless mayhem on a single server that only dozens of maniacal gamers can produce.
As Hayden Dingman at PC World explains, there was nothing quite like the multiplayer mod in “Just Cause 2” that expressed the absolute beauty that can be attained when multiple players are allowed free reign in a single place. By combining parachutes, cars, planes, helicopters and a minigun, explosive fun barely begins to describe the resulting chaos.
As such, when “Just Cause 3” came out and it didn’t have a multiplayer mode despite all the requests by players for “Avalanche” to add one, there was only one thing left to do; players had to make it themselves.
Now, the team that is making the multiplayer mod for “Just Cause 3” is the same group that made an unofficial online server for “Grand Theft Auto V,” which featured fewer restrictions. This meant that players could fight other players along with mods to their hearts’ content. Unfortunately, “Rockstar Games” decided to shut the server down.
The multiplayer mod is not quite ready for launch, though, according to iDigitalTimes. There are still plenty of bugs to fix and issues to resolve. However, at the very least, this gives players hope that someday, they can enjoy absolute mayhem with other players.
