Justin Bieber is on the headlines today after he reacted to accusations that he is on meth. The allegations came up after he was spotted supposedly looking like sh*t.
The Daily Mail posted photos of Bieber, and it seems he has breakouts on his face. It seems that this is the reason why the singer appeared to be trying to cover his face when going out in public.
Justin speaks out about his battle with diseases
It turned out that Justin Bieber’s looks were caused by illness. He disclosed that he is suffering from Lyme disease and chronic mono, and this was why he felt and look depressed in most of 2019.
As per TMZ, the 25-year-old “Love Yourself” singer revealed that he did not know why he always felt so down and was even thought that he has some kind of mental health issues. But everything became clear when he went for a check-up and was diagnosed with Lyme disease.
He further said that he is also battling a chronic mono or Mononucleosis, an infectious illness caused by Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). Justin Bieber said that this illness affected his skin, which explains why he needs to cover up.
In a long post on Instagram, Bieber wrote: “While a lot of people kept saying Justin Bieber looks like sh*t, on meth etc., they failed to realize I've been recently diagnosed with Lyme disease, not only that but had a serious case of chronic mono which affected my, skin, brain function, energy, and overall health.”
Justin’s documentary
Bieber added that to explain his situation better, he told his fans that he would release a docuseries on YouTube so everyone will see and learn what he has been battling for so long already. The 10-part documentary will be up on the streaming site on Jan. 27.
Meanwhile, Lyme disease is curable with antibiotics if treated early, but it can stay for a lifetime. Many other celebrities have been afflicted with this illness, and some of them are Avril Lavigne, Shania Twain, and Bella Hadid. It is said to be a bacterial infection that is transmitted to humans through the bite of one of several types of ticks.
