The lineup of announcements made at the recently held Jump Festa 2020 did not disappoint, especially fans looking forward to hearing more updates about “Kaguya-Sama: Love Is War” season 2. The anime’s release date window was narrowed down at the event, along with the unveiling of the first official promo for the second season that confirmed the addition of new characters.
‘Kaguya-Sama: Love Is War’ season 2 spoilers
The upcoming episodes will officially welcome two new recurring characters, namely Kobachi Osaragi and Miko Iino, who made cameo appearances at the latter part of the first season. In the official “Kaguya-Sama: Love Is War” season 2 promo video, fans will find longer screentime for Miko as she declares to win the election after Yu Ishigami says the student council might be disbanded soon.
These lines explain who Miko is going to be in “Kaguya-Sama: Love Is War” season 2. In the manga, her relentless personality is highlighted for her unwavering desire to win the student council election against president Miyuki Shirogane after being part of the discipline committee.
Her gloomy appearance in the promo video matches her personality and principles as a student leader perfectly. “Kaguya-Sama: Love Is War” season 2 would show that she wants to lead the Shuchiin Academy and impose very strict rules to the extent of forbidding students from having romantic relationships.
Miko started as an unpopular opponent of Miyuki, but she continues to join as an election candidate with the support of Kobachi. This could explain why Chika Fujiwara sounds worried about Miyuki in the “Kaguya-Sama: Love Is War” season 2 trailer. Fans should not worry, though, because Miyuki will not take his student council position to Miko and, more importantly, no one will ban romance from the school. Miko will still have plenty of screentime in “Kaguya-Sama: Love Is War” season 2 because she will join the student council after losing to Miyuki. Miko ends up being an auditing officer, which means she will be working most of the time with Yu.
‘Kaguya-Sama: Love Is War’ season 2 release date
When “Kaguya-Sama: Love Is War” season 2 was announced earlier this year, no release date window was announced. A 2020 premiere was not even guaranteed. But that changed this month at the Jump Festa 2020. New episodes will start airing sometime in April 2020.
