It has been over eight years since Kate Middleton got married to Prince William and assumed the title Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. That obviously comes with a great deal of responsibilities in and out of the United Kingdom.

Many royal family fans would agree that the mother of three has done a good job at being a Duchess. However, if fans have been very accepting of Kate, reports have it that Prince William’s friends were not particularly happy about their marriage.

Kate Middleton is hated by Prince William’s exclusive friend group?

The source of the rumored animosity toward Kate is allegedly Prince William’s Glosse Posse. The British media uses the term to refer to the monarch’s friend group composed of other men from noble families in the United Kingdom.

A recent report by Daily Express recalls a Vanity Fair article by Vicky Ward in 2008 that claimed Kate was deemed to be “controlling” by friends of Prince William. The same article mentions some vicious comments allegedly made by these men about the Duchess.

For one, they reportedly take issue with the fact that Prince William married a commoner, referring to the now-Duchess of Cambridge. Kate’s younger sister, Pippa Middleton, was reportedly not spared from these types of comments.

The two women were reportedly secretly compared with the Bouvier sisters, better known as Jackie Kennedy and Lee Radziwill for their choices of men to marry. Pippa got married to James Matthews in 2017, who is an heir to the Scottish feudal title of Laird of Glen Affric. So Kate’s sister has since assumed the title, Mrs. Matthews of Glen Affric the Younger.

Kate Middleton, Prince William: How did they meet?

Whether or not Prince William’s friends like Kate for their buddy, no one can deny that the Duke and Duchess had quite an interesting love story. It was a common belief that the two met while attending the University of St Andrews in Scotland.

However, biographer Katie Nicholl later shared a different version of the story. Per her sources, Nicholl said they already knew each other even before coming to the University. Nicholl even suggested that Kate was supposed to enroll in a different school but “changed her mind” suddenly.
