‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’ is set to feature the return of Colin Firth as the spy Galahad following his supposed death in the preceding film. Firth was photographed on the new filming set together with co-star Pedro Pascal.
According to Den of Geek, lead actor Taron Egerton posted a massive spoiler image of Firth’s return to the sequel after his character Harry Hart a.k.a. Galahad was supposedly killed off by the villainous Richmond Valentine, portrayed by Samuel L. Jackson, in the first film ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’.
Egerton shared a promotional poster on his Twitter account that implied Firth’s reappearance in the second film. The minimalist poster had the words “Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated” with a pair of glasses that suspiciously looked like Harry’s own. Egerton captioned the image, “A message from an old friend. #Kingsman”.
Matthew Vaughn’s second installment in the British-American spy-action comedy cinematic series is currently in production. Principal photography began on May 2016 in Birmingham in the West Midlands of England.
Pedro Pascal, best known for his role in HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones’, is joining the new cast as a character named Jack Daniels. According to Comicbook.com, Pascal shared a photograph of himself hiding behind Firth on his own Instagram account. It was captioned, “Hide behind Harry. #SafePlace #Kingsman2#TheGoldenCircle”.
It looked to be taken from the actual filming set of ‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’ and seemed to be a confirmation of Harry’s return.
Mark Strong and Sophie Cookson, who play Kingsman spy Merlin and Lancelot respectively, will also be reprising their roles alongside Egerton and Firth. New additions to the cast include Julianne Moore, Halle Berry, Channing Tatum, Jeff Bridges, and Vinnie Jones.
‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’ is an upcoming action-adventure and spy film directed, co-written, and co-produced by Matthew Vaughn. It is produced by Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation and Marv Films and distributed by Twentieth Century Fox in the United States.
The film’s predecessor ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’ received positive reviews from critics and grossed $414.35 million worldwide against an $81 million production budget.
