Klondike’s Choco Taco ice cream has been popular and a favorite for decades. However, the beloved product was pulled out of the grocery freezers and may never return to the market.
As per CNN Business, customers may still find the Klondike Choco Taco in some stores, but sooner or later, it will not be available anymore. It was noted that the pandemic forced many companies to make big changes in their businesses, including reducing their portfolios to make way and give more focus to more popular products.
They had to do this to meet the demand for the most ordered items, but the downside is that other brands in the portfolio that are selling less could be taken down or discontinued. This is the same case with Klondike Choco Taco; its manufacturer is removing it from its product list due to a slowdown in sales.
"Over the past 2 years, we have experienced an unprecedented spike in demand across our portfolio and have had to make very tough decisions to ensure availability of our full portfolio nationwide," a representative of the Klondike Brand told CNN Business via email.
The company added that the management is aware that this move may be upsetting to some customers who loved its Choco Taco ice cream bar but it was a decision that must be made.
Unfortunately, the Choco Taco has been discontinued in both 1ct and 4ct packs. Over the past 2 years, we have experienced an unprecedented spike in demand across our portfolio and have had to make very tough decisions to ensure availability of our full portfolio nationwide.

Some people aired their disappointments with the discontinuation of Klondike’s Choco Taco on social media, with one saying that "They always take the best things away from us." Others have criticized the move and left comments that reprimanded the company. The company replied to comments from disappointed consumers, and Klondike is encouraging them to try the other treats it is offering.
"A necessary but unfortunate part of this process is that we sometimes must discontinue products, even a beloved item like Choco Taco,” Klondike said. “We know this may be very disappointing, and hope you’ll try our other delicious frozen treats!"
Meanwhile, Fox Business reported that Klondike shared it is trying to find a way for the favorite Choco Taco to return in the future. Thus, there is still a chance for the beloved treat to make a comeback, even if it may take a long time.
