“Twilight” may not have been the deepest romantic story about werewolves, vampires, and a teenager but fans can agree that Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson looked great on-screen together. And just like any other perfect silver screen couple, it seems that Stewart and Pattinson have one of the most memorable audition stories.
In an interview with People, “Twilight” director Catherine Hardwicke recalls that while Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson were both shy during the audition process, the attraction between the two stars was definitely through the roof. Hardwicke even recalls that she had to remind Robert Pattinson that Stewart was underage during the time that “Twilight” auditions were occurring.
Unfortunately for fans, it seems that Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson may have outgrown the kind of movies and roles that fans still want to see them in. When Stewart and Pattinson were recently interviewed about doing a potential reboot or sequel for the “Twilight” series, neither of the actors seemed particularly interested. Both Stewart and Pattinson replied to such questions by humoring them rather than providing serious answers about doing another “Twilight” movie.
Robert Pattinson mentions being more picky about the movies and roles he takes, preferring to go for ones that intrigue his creative juices. Kristen Stewart's growing filmography is also being populated by arthouse and indie-level material that focuses more on characters that seem to interest her as well.
In addition to the career trajectories that both former “Twilight” stars prefer, fans cannot forget that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart's famous break-up, which was not necessarily a pleasant moment. While Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart may have buried the hatchet about how their relationship ended, it seems that neither actor is interested in working together any time soon.
It seems that despite Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart's natural on-screen chemistry, fans may have to accept that the age of Rpatz and Kstew together on the silver screen doing a Stephanie Meyer adaptation is over. If any die-hard “Twilight” fan really wants a reboot of the series, they may have to look for a different couple for the reimagining.
