“Kung Fu Panda 4” is going to come sooner or later so fans should wait a bit more for the fourth movie sequel that stars the much-beloved character, Po. It has been two years since the third installment was released but patience is needed since the next one has yet to go into production.
So, does this mean that “Kung Fu Panda 4” is already confirmed and really coming soon? While many people feel skeptical now since there is hardly any news or update about the movie, new details are emerging and they are coming from people who are involved in the movie.
Earlier this month, Gregory Wakeman of Metro revealed that he was able to speak with Jennifer Yuh Nelson. He asked her for an update about “Kung Fu Panda 4” since she is the movie’s director.
To be more specific, the writer asked Nelson if they have plans for the fourth film. The director initially gave a four-word answer of “I really don’t know,” but when prompted to give more details, she gave a longer reply.
“For me, it had always been a trilogy, in terms of the exact arc that we were working on. I really don’t know what the plans are,” Nelson stated. “But the pull is Po. Po is the world. So I am sure something will happen at some point, but it’s just that I don’t know what.”
She further noted that although she can’t say anything as of now if “Kung Fu Panda 4” is forthcoming, she is very open to the idea of another sequel as a follow-up to the third one.
Director Jennifer Yuh Nelson is the latest person to talk about “Kung Fu Panda 4” and before her, there was DreamWorks CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg. He gave an update about the movie.
As EconoTimes reported, Katzenberg implied in 2011 that there will be “Kung Fu Panda 4” and other sequels after it. He shared that there could be 6 movies in all.
“'Kung Fu Panda’ actually has 6 chapters to it, and we’ve mapped that out over the years,” Katzenberg said during an interview.
Release Date
“Kung Fu Panda 4” has no release date yet, which is understandable. But OtakuKart recently suggested that the film may arrive in 2020.
