TAMPA, Fla., Jan. 16, 2017 -- Renowned chef/restaurateur Pepe Diaz and his family bring traditional, family-friendly Cuban American cuisine to their newest full-service bar and restaurant venture – La Yuma.
Located at 16411 North Florida Ave., Lutz, FL, 33549, La Yuma is now serving lunch and dinner seven days a week, with live music on the weekends.
The decor and theme are based on the journey by sea and air to freedom that Cubans have taken to reach the United States, which they referred to as La Yuma. The energy and atmosphere of the restaurant is high, and draws some of its power from the Diaz family’s own life stories and the Cuban culture.
The menu embraces the full spectrum of traditional Cuban food, including many beef, chicken, pork and seafood dishes native to the Caribbean island. Start your culinary adventure with an authentic Mojito or Cuba Libre cocktail and the Gambas a la Plancha, or La Yuma’s Cuban nachos. Finish with flan or the tres leches cake for dessert, and café con leche or café Americano.
In the Cuban language, the term La Yuma is a reference for the United States and the journey that brings Cubans here. Now, when you are at La Yuma Restaurant in North Tampa, you have arrived!
