KEMP, Texas, March 20, 2018 -- Industrial lighting leader, Larson Electronics LLC, announced the release of a new explosion proof self-testing bug eye LED exit sign light fixture approved for use in C1D1/C2D1 locations. This high- voltage fixture produces a total of 99 lumens and operates for at least 90 minutes during a power outage, making this exit system ideal for emergency failsafe lighting in areas where explosion proof fixtures are required.
The EXP-EMG-EXT-LE6-3L-50HZ from Larson Electronics is an explosion proof bug eye emergency LED exit sign that includes an LED exit sign and three lamps containing eight LEDs each. Each LED lamp produces 33 lumens of white high-quality LED light, while drawing just 3.3 watts. The emergency exit sign includes a left or right light-up directional arrow, which indicates the direction of the nearest exit. This emergency exit unit features self-testing and a backup emergency battery for failsafe reliability, which will run for at least 90 minutes after a power failure with the help of a 3.6 volt NiCad chargeable battery.
This explosion proof emergency LED exit sign includes brown-out, short circuit and voltage surge protection, and has a low voltage disconnect which prevents damage to the battery in case the battery’s terminal voltage falls too low. The indicator lights can be adjusted both vertically and horizontally, allowing operators to achieve ideal coverage specific to their location. The entire assembly is designed for surface mounting and made of powder coated die cast aluminum with polycarbonate lenses protecting the LED bulbs. The fixture operates on 208/220/240V at 50Hz.
“The EXP-EMG-EXT-LE6-3L-50HZ provides reliable failsafe emergency exit lighting, something every hazardous location desperately needs,” said Rob Bresnahan, CEO of Larson Electronics LLC. “The emergency backup battery combined with LED indicator lights and a directional exit sign makes this emergency bug eye fixture a complete, multi-functional exit marking solution.”
