KEMP, Texas, April 29, 2018 -- Industrial lighting leader, Larson Electronics LLC, announced the release of a 56-watt, two-lamp vapor-proof LED light with emergency battery backup for use in rugged outdoor worksites. This fixture provides much longer lamp life and higher performance than traditional fixtures and is an ideal light for off-shore applications, marine use, shopping malls, parking structures and any other outdoor locations where vapor proof lighting is required or desired.
The GVP-EMG-48-2L-LED-M is an LED fixture with a battery backup, ideal for operators looking for top quality vapor proof lighting in outdoor settings. Those who wish to reduce the maintenance costs and improve lighting quality will find this unit is an ideal replacement for common fluorescent fixtures. This unit is equipped with two, 4 foot-long, 23W LED T8-Series bulbs, producing a total of 7,000 lumens with a 5600k color temperature. T8 bulbs are special solid-state LED tubes that produce the same illumination as standard fluorescent bulbs, with higher efficiency and lower draw. Additionally, this unit does not have a ballast, which reduces overall weight and slims down the profile.
The vapor proof outdoor LED features an emergency battery backup that runs one bulb for 90 minutes after power is lost at 3,500 lumens. Once power is restored the lamp will recharge the battery and keep it ready for the next outage. A switched leg turns the light on and off without kicking the unit into emergency mode. The GVP-EMG-48-2L-LED-M operates on universal 110-277VAC at 50/60 Hz without modifications and is also available in a low-voltage model that runs on 12-24V AC/DC. This unit is equipped with 25 feet of 16/3 SOOW cord with choice of cord caps for safe and reliable connection and utilizes two 100-pound magnets to conveniently mount the fixture to magnetic surfaces.
“This light is a really versatile emergency unit for outdoor applications - from warehouse lighting, to the illumination of shipyards and marine worksites,” said Rob Bresnahan, CEO of Larson Electronics LLC. “The flexible magnetic mounting, makes it easy for operators to move the light around where needed, and place it anywhere that has a metallic surface.”
