CFTC commitment of traders report was released on Friday (23rd March) and cover positions up to Tuesday (20th March). COT report is not a complete presenter of entire market positions; however, it represents a good chunk of institutional traders, to have a feel of what expected by the big players.

- Gold – Net position long and decreasing
Long positions declined for a second consecutive week. The net long positions got decreased by 19,217 contracts to +148.7K contracts.
- Copper – Net position long and decreasing
Long positions declined for a second consecutive week. The net longs decreased by 8,774 contracts to +30.9K contracts.
- Silver – Net position turned from long to short
The long positions declined for a second consecutive week by 15,463 contracts to -12.5K contracts.
- WTI Crude – Net position long and increasing
Speculators increased long positions last week and by 35,175 contracts, which brought the net positions to +703.7K contracts.
- Natural gas – Net position short and decreasing
Short positions declined for a third consecutive week and by 5,699 contracts that pushed the net position to -99.4K contracts.
