CFTC commitment of traders report was released on Friday (26th October) and cover positions up to Tuesday (23rd October). COT report is not a complete presenter of entire market positions; however, it represents a good chunk of institutional traders, to have a feel of what expected by the big players.

- Gold – Position shifted from long and increasing
The net long positions rose by 11,721 contracts that pushed the net position to +29.4K contracts.
- Copper – Net position long and increasing
The net long positions rose for a second consecutive week, and by 429 contracts to +9.3K contracts.
- Silver – Net position short and decreasing
The short positions declined for the second consecutive week and by 9,648 contracts to -5.2K contracts.
- WTI Crude – Net position long and decreasing
Speculators reduced long positions for the 14th time in 18 weeks, and by 37,951 contracts, which brought the net positions to +455.3K contracts.
- Natural gas – Net position short and increasing
Short positions rose for the 4th time in 13 weeks and by 8,659 contracts last week to -13.2K contracts.
