Recently, GQ Korea released its list of male celebrities given the title “Man of the Year,” one of them being Lee Dong Wook. The actor surprised everyone, from netizens to fans alike, with his long hair for the photoshoot.
Lee Dong Wook was recently named one of GQ Korea’s “Men of the Year,” and for his fun, Mickey Mouse-themed cover shoot, the actor showed off some new looks. Among those new looks was his long hair that fell to his shoulders. His new look was received with mixed reactions from the public.
Some of the comments said that he should not have long hair, while others felt otherwise and said that he still looks good with long hair. It certainly is a big step away from the usual clean-cut that many are used to seeing from him until today. But the actor reveals in the interview that the long locks he is sporting in the photoshoot are just hair extensions.
Lee Dong Wook expressed that he had fun doing the photoshoot, and even mentioned how much he likes the character. When asked if he feels that he is too old to like Mickey Mouse, he said he does not. “Whenever I go abroad, I always go to a Disney store. Going there cheers me up. Even if I am old enough to be a grandfather, that feeling won’t change,” Said the actor.
This is the second year that the South Korean actor has been named one of GQ Korea’s “Men of the Year,” as he also received that same award last year in 2018. This year, he is joined by three other celebrities; Winner’s Song Mino, NU’EST’s Minhyun, and Oh Hyuk.
Having made his debut 20 years ago, Lee Dong Wook will now be hosting his own show, called “Lee Dong Wook Wants to Talk” that is set to premiere on 4th December. The first teaser of which also reveals his very first guest, his co-star from the hit Korean drama “Goblin,” Gong Yoo. Lee Dong Wook shared in the interview his reaction towards being first approached with the idea for his own show, and even mentioned how he did something similar with Gong Yoo two years ago during a fan meeting.
“I thought about it a lot, of course. I wanted to do it, but I was scared. But I think there will definitely be fun to it that can’t be found in acting,” Said the actor.
