It has been quite a few years since the last time that anyone has seen a film project by Lee Min Ho and there is a very good reason for this. He has basically been doing his time serving in the military, which is mandatory for practically all South Korean men. With his discharge from service comes the question of what he will be doing going forward and it would appear that it involves a challenging new role. This development also brings up questions about the actor’s fame.
Lee Min Ho got his start towards the stairs of fame by starring in “Boys over Flowers,” Business Times reports. Since then, he has been the lead in many other popular projects, catapulting his name to the top and branding him as one of South Korea’s most popular actors. These include “Legend of the Blue Sea,” “7 Kisses,” “Faith,” “The Heirs,” “Line Romance,” and “Personal Taste.”
The next project that Lee Min Ho will be jumping into is “The King: The Eternal Monarch” and it will feature something of a reunion for the actor. This project will basically seem him collaborating with writer Kim Eun Sook who he first worked with on “The Heirs.” So, as developments go, this practically guarantees that the show is going to be good.
However, there is the question of whether or not Lee Min Ho still has the same pull among viewers that he had before he went into military service. It is no secret that fans can be quite fickle and many of them change parties fairly often. As such, the actor might no longer have the same following that he once did.
This is why there are speculations that his drive to take on this challenging role is due to his desperation to get back into the spotlight. Basically, if Lee Min Ho can pull off this role that includes two characters with the same face, he might just get his mojo back.
