From the get-go, many doubted the potential of the TV adaptation of one of the most popular action movie franchises in the '90s. Even so, it’s already “Lethal Weapon” Season 3 Episode 1 and it seems the show just keeps on going. Following the firing of one of its leads, an interview with the replacement reveals some details that fans can expect from the show.
As Otaku Art notes, “Lethal Weapon” Season 3 Episode 1 premieres this week, which can be viewed via the FOX channel on Tuesdays at 9 p.m., or streamed via the FOX App. The new season will feature Damon Wayans Sr. as original co-lead Roger Murtaugh and Seann William Scott will be playing Wesley Cole. Cole will be acting as Martin Riggs’s replacement after actor Clayne Crawford was fired from the show and his character was depicted as having died.
Viewers might remember Seann William Scott from his appearance in the main “American Pie” movies as resident misogynist Steve Stifler. His character in “Lethal Weapon” Season 3 Episode 1 will be a uniformed police officer following his resignation from the CIA. In a recent interview with TVLine, the actor talks about his character’s first meeting with Roger Murtaugh and more.
“Coming from being an ex-CIA guy and seeing a lot of ugliness in the world, he comes home and wasn’t expecting to have to partner up with somebody. And he meets this guy who’s a great father and just a really, really good cop. I think that’s probably one of the things that appeal to him,” the actor said about this new relationship.
“Lethal Weapon” Season 3 Episode 1 can be watched via the FOX App right now and succeeding episodes will be broadcasted via the FOX channel every Tuesday at 9 p.m., which fans might want to keep in mind. Will this show survive without Martin Riggs?
