Dubai Police has added the Lucid Air Grand Touring to its fleet, bolstering its push for sustainability under the Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 2033. Dubai Police Adds Lucid Air Grand Touring to Fleet, Advancing UAE’s Green Economy Goals for 2033
The Dubai Police General Command has welcomed the Lucid Air Grand Touring as the newest addition to its constantly expanding fleet of vehicles, per Teslarati.
On October 4, His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, the Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, and Faisal Sultan, Vice President and Managing Director of Lucid Middle East, welcomed the new Air Grand Touring variant into the fleet.
According to Al Marri, incorporating the new electric vehicle into the General Command of the Police Department is merely the most recent development in the United Arab Emirates' transition to a green economy, a component of the Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 2033.
Sultan stated:
"We are honored to lend our assistance to the Dubai Police in its endeavors to improve its electric vehicle fleet." We anticipate expanding our business in Dubai with the recent inauguration of our first retail showroom on the City Walk.
The current fleet includes the Lucid Air Grand Touring, a Tesla Model 3, a Model Y, and a Cybertruck.
It should be no surprise that Dubai has included an additional Lucid vehicle in its police fleet. The company is significantly backed by Middle Eastern entities, such as the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund, which has invested $6.4 billion in the automaker since 2018.
Lucid's Saudi Factory Targets 50,000 Units Annually, Backed by Strong Financial Support from PIF
Lucid also operates a factory in Saudi Arabia, inaugurated in September 2023. The organization intends to commence operations with an annual production capacity of 50,000 units.
Even though Lucid's production is still in its early stages and incurs a loss on each vehicle it produces, it possesses the distinctive strength of seemingly limitless funds.
Lucid has the opportunity to introduce a variety of customization levels of a single vehicle at the outset of its manufacturing strategy, as the PIF has the financial resources to allocate nearly any amount of money to any investment it deems viable.
To put it plainly, this is a competitive advantage that other automobile manufacturers lacked. Robust financial support facilitated the complexity of the initial production model.
The Lucid Air has received numerous favorable evaluations, including one from the renowned tech figure MKBHD, who declared the Sapphire trim the most exceptional sedan in the world.
