A Bitcoin whale from the network's earliest days has moved $3.58 million to Kraken after nearly a decade of dormancy. The transfer intensifies speculation about Satoshi Nakamoto just as HBO prepares to unveil his identity in an upcoming documentary.

According to a blockchain data firm, an "ancient" Bitcoin whale who mined Bitcoin during the first two months of the network's existence has transferred additional Bitcoin to the cryptocurrency exchange Kraken.
"This Bitcoin was mined ONE MONTH after Bitcoin’s launch in Feb/March 2009," Arkham Intelligence noted in a post on October 4th, X.
In the most recent transaction on October 3rd, the unidentified Bitcoin whale sent 10 Bitcoin, which is equivalent to $610,000.

Since September 24th, they have transferred $3.58 million to Kraken. Arkham mentioned in a previous X article that the wallet address had been idle for ten years prior to then: "After moving several times from 2011-2014, his Bitcoin was then held dormant for almost 10 YEARS straight - during which it increased in value from $474K to over $80M."
According to Arkham data, the wallet address "3JZsd…QerUW" presently has 1,169 Bitcoin, which is equivalent to $72.4 million at today’s pricing.
Satoshi Speculation Reignited by Whale's Movement
The real identity of Satoshi Nakamoto, the pseudonymous developer of Bitcoin, is once again the subject of much conjecture. The makers of the HBO documentary "Money Electric: The Bitcoin Mystery" assert that it will unveil Nakamoto's identity on October 8.
According to the HBO documentary, the likelihood of Len Sassaman, a late American computer expert, being named Nakamoto is high.
Sassaman’s Connection to Bitcoin Remains a Mystery
Famous cypherpunk Sassaman took his own life on July 3, 2011, just over two months after Nakamoto announced they had "moved on to other things." The Bitcoin blockchain included a tribute to Sassaman in Block 138,725.
Who exactly Sassaman was in relation to Bitcoin is unknown.

Cointelegraph, on the other hand, uncovered many X postings from Sassaman that date back to 2013, in which he criticized Bitcoin, claiming that it lacked "privacy" capabilities and "fraud reversal protection."
According to Meredith Patterson, who was married to Sassaman but passed away in 2021, "best of my knowledge, Len was not Satoshi."
