Being on a different platform could also change the series’ usual release date window for “Lucifer” season 4. Meanwhile, one of the highly anticipated arcs in the upcoming installment is the love story of Lucifer (Tom Ellis) and Chloe (Lauren German).
The filming of “Lucifer” season 4 concluded last December but fans are still uncertain when it will premiere on Netflix. The show’s third season concluded in late May 2018 followed by the announcement of its cancellation by Fox. Luckily, the widespread online campaign to save the show convinced Netflix to pick it up a month later for a 10-episode run.
It will not be that surprising if these changes will cause changes in the show’s usual schedule such as taking a longer time in post-production. Remember that “Lucifer” season 4 is now part of the Netflix Originals category. This means that all 10 episodes shall be released all at once. With that, some fans think “Lucifer” season 4 could premiere about a year later since season 3’s finale or sometime between April and May.
Meanwhile, there are also speculations that Netflix could set its release date within the first quarter of 2019. If that’s the case, Netflix should be preparing to launch the first official trailer of “Lucifer” season 4 in the coming weeks.
“Lucifer” season 4 picks up from an alternate reality where Chloe pursued her acting career so God (Neil Gaiman) could see if she will still meet Lucifer. They did end up working together after a friend of hers died and she also later considers becoming a police officer. This implied that Chloe and Lucifer are destined to find one another even in a different timeline.
The question now is whether Lucifer and Chloe’s romantic relationship will flourish in “Lucifer” season 4. Ellis recently shared what he thinks about this possibility and when asked if his character would work on being a good boyfriend, the actor said (via Daily Express), “Not necessarily how to be a good boyfriend but how to be a bad one.”
