NEW YORK, Dec. 03, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Macro Risk Advisors (MRA), a leading provider of global equity derivatives strategy and trade execution for institutional investors, today announced the expansion of its sales and trading team with the addition of Jerry Hammerschmidt as an Institutional salesperson. The addition of Mr. Hammerschmidt demonstrates MRA’s continued effort to offer exceptional and timely analysis around risk and the macro environment to institutional investors.
“We are very excited to have Jerry join the salestrading team here at MRA,” said Brian Bier, Co-Head of MRA’s trading desk. “Jerry has many years of experience trading cash equities and derivatives, and we know he will be a great addition to our trading desk and overall product offering.”
MRA’s ongoing expansion of its salestrading team comes as more and more investors look to the derivatives market to effectively manage portfolio risk. The firm’s clients, including hedge funds, family offices, pension funds, and endowments, have increasingly sought independent advice on how to structure and execute hedging transactions in an efficient manner.
Mr. Hammerschmidt brings to MRA over twenty years of listed derivative trading and cash equity execution. Prior to joining MRA, Mr. Hammerschmidt worked at Morgan Stanley on the floor of the Hang Seng option and futures exchange. He held multiple positions within the equity division at the investment bank in Asia and New York. Following his time at MS, Mr. Hammerschmidt worked for several years at Barclays where he was a director of OTC equity derivatives sales. He most recently worked at Societe Generale in the equity derivatives group. Mr. Hammerschmidt attended Florida State University where he studied Economics.
