Denver, Colo., April 10, 2017 -- Internet2, a member-driven advanced technology community founded by the nation’s leading higher education institutions, today confirmed three featured speakers at its 2017 Global Summit meeting taking place April 23-26 in Washington, D.C. The featured speakers for the general sessions include:
- Dr. Mae Jamison, physician, professor and NASA astronaut, will present “STEM: The Importance of Science, Technology, Engineering & Math” on Monday, April 24.
- Ian Glazer, senior director for identity at Salesforce, will present “The Changing Face/Fate of Identity” on Tuesday, April 25.
- Dr. Larry Smarr, founding director of the California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology and Harry E. Gruber professor of computer science at UC San Diego, will present “Toward a National Big Data Superhighway” on Wednesday, April 26.
The Internet2 Global Summit is an annual event that hosts nearly 1,000 C-level information technology decision-makers and high-level influencers from higher education, government and scientific research organizations.
