The Major League Soccer revealed the full schedule of matches for its 2023 regular season. Sports fans who use the Apple TV app or have an Apple TV+ subscription might want to pay attention, as this is also the first season that the 10-year partnership of MLS and Apple will ultimately kick-off.
MLS released the list of regular-season soccer matches on Tuesday, with the first games set for Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023. Soccer fans will find the full schedule on this page.
With the imminent launch of MLS Season Pass, Apple said viewers could expect a more consistent schedule next season. The majority of the matches will take place on Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. local time, while a few matches will happen on select Wednesdays.
It will be an important season for soccer fans and Apple fans, as the 2023 season also marks the debut of the MLS Season Pass. The subscription service will provide full access to all matches through devices that support the Apple TV app and web browsers via tv.apple.com.
Apple and MLS announced last June a 10-year partnership that resulted in the MLS Season Pass. “We're thinking about what is happening with the transition of sports viewership and fan engagement, going from what has been a traditional cable model over to what has become more of a streaming model,” MLS Commissioner Don Garber said at the time.
The MLS Season Pass will be available starting Feb. 1. It is regularly priced at $14.99 per month or $99 per full season. Existing Apple TV+ subscribers can get a discount and subscribe for $12.99 per month or $79 per season. Subscribers will gain access to live broadcasts and replays of all matches in the MLS regular season, MLS playoffs, MLS Cup, and the Leagues Cup.
Meanwhile, Apple TV+ subscribers can watch “a selection of MLS and Leagues Cup matches” without paying extra fees. Apple also confirmed some matches would be broadcast on FOX networks in the United States, while fans in Canada can watch them on TSN and RDS.
