McDonald's Monopoly is back, and one eager participant, Josh Ryan, decided to test his luck by spending £100 on menu items to see what prizes he could win. While the journey had ups and downs, including a minor purchase mistake, Josh walked away with a mix of small wins and discounts.

McDonald's Monopoly Tradition: Man Spends £100 Hoping for Big Wins, Faces Early Setback

It's that time of year again—the return of McDonald's Monopoly, a promotion fast food fans eagerly anticipate. During this event, customers can purchase select menu items with stickers that offer the chance to win a range of prizes, from free McDonald's food to £100,000 in cash. The excitement of peeling off stickers and seeing what prizes await has become a tradition for many McDonald's enthusiasts.

Eager to test his luck, Josh Ryan decided to spend a hefty £100 on McDonald's Monopoly items to see what he could win. Sitting down with his girlfriend, Megan McLoughlin, 23, Josh carefully opened his purchases one by one, hoping for a big win. He spent the £100 over two orders but quickly realized he had mistakenly spent £6 on a Big Mac, which wasn’t part of the Monopoly promotion.

Optimism Pays Off: McDonald's Monopoly Player Wins Discounts and Prizes After £100 Spend

Despite this minor setback, Josh was optimistic from the start. After peeling the first stickers, he excitedly shared that they were close to completing the yellow property set—one of the critical collections that could lead to winning significant prizes like an electric car, a vacation, or even £100,000. "We only need one more yellow already," Josh said after two items.

However, their excitement waned after they spent £50 on their first order. While they had hoped to win a TV, their prize was far less thrilling—a Quarter-Pound with Cheese. Josh also tried the Double Peel, which offers participants a second chance to win on the McDonald's website, but he didn't score any additional prizes.

Not one to give up easily, Josh tried again, spending another £50. This time, the results were more satisfying. After peeling off the first sticker on a drink, Megan revealed that they had won £5 off a personalized phone case. "We've won already. That's a good start," Josh said.

They also bagged a 15% discount code for a future McDonald's order and a free Coca-Cola or Milkshake. But the biggest win came from the Double Peel—a £75 discount on a £750 spend with TUI, a notable travel company.

Though Josh didn’t walk away with the top prizes, his experience highlights the excitement of McDonald's Monopoly and the variety of prizes up for grabs. Whether it’s small wins like food items or discounts, the promotion captivates fast-food fans each year.
