After a chaotic in-store release, Flight Club will now offer the Nike “What The Duck” Dunks through an online raffle. Winners must collect their pairs in-store by October 13th. Meanwhile, the Air Jordan 5 “Fire Red” joins Jordan Brand’s mammoth 2025 lineup, returning in its original colorway.

Flight Club’s ‘What The Duck’ Dunks Release Faces Setback, Raffle Announced for Remaining Pairs

Flight Club’s in-store release of the "What The Duck" Nike Dunks in New York didn’t unfold as expected. In hindsight, the massive turnout was perhaps predictable (recalling the chaos of the Pigeon Dunks release), as a large crowd of eager sneaker enthusiasts gathered outside the store, hoping to secure one of the limited-edition pairs. The line quickly spilled onto the streets, prompting the NYPD to shut down the first-come, first-served release. However, there is good news for those who attended: the remaining pairs will be available through a raffle.

Winners will be notified via email on the night of October 9th and must pick up their shoes in person at Flight Club New York by October 13th. To claim their pair, winners must have a Flight Club account matching the email submitted in the raffle form and bring both an ID and the confirmation email. Entrants can choose between the “home” or “away” colorway but cannot enter for both. Additionally, the "What The Duck" Dunks are still set to release online via GOAT on October 11th.

Jordan Brand to Reintroduce the Air Jordan 5 ‘Fire Red’ in Fall 2025, Celebrating Its 35th Anniversary

In other sneaker news, Jordan Brand is on track to break records with an impressive lineup of releases in 2025. Adding to the excitement, a classic colorway from 1990 is making a comeback next year. The Air Jordan 5 “Fire Red” is scheduled to return in Fall 2025, priced at $210, as part of the celebration for the model’s 35th anniversary. This version will feature the non-reflective black fabric tongue and a red-dominant midsole, differentiating it from the reflective-tongue version.

Though re-released in 2006 and 2013, this upcoming drop will be the first true recreation of the 1990 original. The 1990 original had several distinguishing features, such as the typeface of the heel numbers and the iconic Nike Air branding on the back. While Michael Jordan’s autograph won’t appear on the retail version, it’s shown in comparison to highlight the original’s distinct features.
