LEWES, Del., June 01, 2017 -- MariMed Inc. (OTCQB:MRMD) client First State Compassion Center (FSCC), opened Delaware’s second licensed medical cannabis facility after successfully operating the first one in Wilmington, DE, over the past two years. FSCC South, a medical marijuana dispensary, opened May 26th at 12000 Old Vine Boulevard, Building 4D 102, in Lewes (Sussex County).
MariMed was instrumental in the creation of the business plans and applications for the two medical cannabis licenses that FSCC was awarded by the State of Delaware. MariMed designed and developed FSCC’s 50,000 sq. ft. seed to sale facility in Wilmington and its new 4000 sq. ft. dispensary in Lewes. Under MariMed’s guidance, FSCC facilities were crafted to provide a professional, comfortable and secure environment for state certified medical cannabis patients to learn about and obtain medical cannabis.
“We had such a great response from patients with our first medical cannabis facility, FSCC North in Wilmington, that we knew we needed to move forward with a site in Lewes to be more conveniently accessible to downstate patients and to be able to produce more product to meet robust demand,” stated Mark Lally, FSCC President and retired Delaware State Trooper.
After overseeing the design and build-out, MariMed continues to provide management oversight, staffing and training to FSCC, as well as oversees all growing systems, security, merchandising and product development.
“As we planned FSCC South, we continued to benefit from MariMed’s proven track record and best practices in developing and operating cannabis facilities which enable us to create and operate FSCC so smoothly and efficiently in all areas,” Lally added.
“Mark Lally and the FSCC team take pride in doing things right and putting the patient first, as evidenced in every decision they make, from the floor plan, to hiring decisions, going the extra mile in staff training and the meticulous execution of operations by their staff,” noted Robert Fireman, CEO of MariMed Advisors. “Their dedication to patient service and providing patient education sets new standards in customer care for the industry and helped them grow from 200 patients initially to almost 3000 state certified patients in approximately two years. That business model has now been replicated in FSCC South and will likely be emulated by many other cannabis facilities.”
The FSCC dispensaries blend rich, natural materials and industrial design elements for an ambiance of warmth and harmony in an accessible and functional floor plan that includes private patient rooms and attractive product displays. FSCC curates a wide array of products focusing on specific conditions and relief of symptoms. It offers MariMed’s precision dosed Kalm Fusion™ brand sublinguals and chewables, plus capsules, concentrates, oils, tinctures, pre-rolls, topicals, accessories and gear, in addition to 17 of its own quality, Delaware-grown cannabis strains.
Through a MariMed licensing agreement, FSCC also features the strains and genetics of Israel’s world-renowned cannabis company Tikun Olam., which has set the industry standard in pioneering their scientific research and clinical studies.
In addition to the two Delaware facilities, MariMed has developed and manages medical cannabis facilities in other licensed states and is currently developing six facilities in two additional states.
