Marvel’s ‘Inhumans’ has recently cast ‘Lost’ alum Ken Leung as the powerful Minister Karnak. Leung joins Iwan Rheon, Serinda Swan, and Anson Mount for the upcoming series.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ken Leung has recently joined the cast of Marvel’s upcoming ABC drama based on the fictional race of superhumans in the original Marvel comic books of the same name. The Inhuman Royal Family has been introduced in the second season of the live-action television adaptation of ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ The characters are part of the massive Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) franchise.
Leung is best known for his portrayal of Miles Straume in the drama television series ‘Lost.’ He also starred in the films ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ as Admiral Statura and ‘X-Men: The Last Stand’ as Kid Omega.
According to Blastr, the 47-year old actor is slated to play the Atillian clan’s advisor, Minister Karnak. He is King Bolt’s chief strategist as he has the powers of seeing faults in all things. He was raised without Terrigen mutation and trained in various physical as well as mental disciplines.
Minister Karnak is endowed with superhuman strength, endurance, speed, and reflexes. He is also extremely lithe and flexible and has strong powers of intuition and precognition.
Leung joins a growing cast composed of Iwan Rheon of ‘Game of Thrones’ as Maximus, Anson Mount of ‘Hell on Wheels’ as Black Bolt, and Serinda Swan of ‘Graceland’ as Black Bolt’s wife Medusa.
According to Gamespot, the new series is overseen by Scott Buck and is one of the upcoming Marvel shows currently in production. Buck is also the showrunner on ‘Iron Fist,’ a Marvel series expected to debut this March 17. It was also reported that the state of Hawaii has transformed a 3,700-acre ex-Navy facility in Kalaeloa in preparation for filming.
Marvel’s ‘Inhumans’ is scheduled to debut its first two episodes exclusively in IMAX theaters in September before shifting to the small screen sometime in the fall.
