Global payment giant Mastercard continues its exploration of cryptocurrency benefits through a new collaboration with crypto payment platform MoonPay. The partnership aims to explore how Web3 tools can improve experiential marketing or find new ways to connect with Mastercard's consumers.
Mastercard's collaboration with MoonPay is a testament to their dedication to innovation and expansion within the blockchain and crypto space.
Fostering Innovative Consumer Experiences through Web3 Integration
MoonPay officially announced on Oct. 25 a partnership with Mastercard, setting the stage for innovative consumer experiences driven by Web3 integration, as per Cointelegraph. MoonPay's enterprise president, Keith Grossman, and Mastercard's chief marketing and communications officer, Raja Rajamannar, announced the collaboration at Money20/20 in Las Vegas.
Coin Desk noted that Mastercard would leverage MoonPay's entire Web3 portfolio, including auth to minting to ETHPass and more and work closely with their agency, Otherlife, for strategy, creative, and front-end dev work for their experiential initiatives. Grossman shared this exciting news in a post on LinkedIn, expressing his enthusiasm for the partnership.
MoonPay, in addition to driving new Web3 consumer experiences, will also work on integrating Mastercard products and solutions to increase compliance and trust across the Web3 industry. Specific tools like "Click to Pay," Mastercard Send and Mastercard Crypto Credentials will be incorporated into MoonPay's payment solutions.
Mastercard's Commitment to Blockchain and Crypto Industry
Mastercard has shown active interest in the blockchain and crypto industry, continuously adding multiple industry products to its platform. In 2022, the company launched a program enabling banks to offer crypto trading capabilities to their customers through collaboration with Paxos. Additionally, Mastercard joined forces with Coinbase and MoonPay to bring its payments to Web3 and non-fungible tokens.
Adam Polansky, Mastercard's Web3 marketing representative, expressed gratitude and excitement for the partnership in a comment on Grossman's LinkedIn post. Elizabeth Taylor, Mastercard's partnership executive, also shared her enthusiasm for what lies ahead in the collaboration.
Mastercard had not officially announced the partnership at the time of writing.
