Huawei has finally unveiled the Mate 20 Pro at their “Welcome to a Higher Intelligence” event in London, and the device is as good, if not better than expected. The phone’s design will attract some attention, but what really matters is the improvements Huawei has made inside the device.
The Mate 20 Pro has a 6.39-inch OLED display with a screen resolution of 3120 × 1440 pixels and a pixel density of 538 ppi, and it is powered by the Kirin 980 processor developed by Huawei based on the Cortex-A76 CPUs. The flagship phone also comes with 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM, and 128 GB or 256 GB of interior storage with a Nano Memory card slot that can support up to 256 GB.
Furthermore, the Mate 20 Pro supports wireless charging, and its 4200 mAh battery should last for hours. Interestingly, the smartphone also has reverse wireless charging. That means it can charge other phones wirelessly.
Meanwhile, the 40 MP + 20 MP + 8 MP setup on the rear of the Mate 20 Pro is one of its most talked about features, and it doesn’t disappoint. In fact, some observers have noted that the Mate 20 Pro may rival the Pixel 3 for best smartphone camera in 2018.
“Designed for different scenarios, the 40 MP main RGB lens captures great details in everyday photos, while the 8 MP telephoto lens will focus on your distant shots and the whole new 20 MP Leica Ultra Wide Angle Lens is perfect for the landscape photos and macro shots,” the description reads at the official Mate 20 Pro product page.
The Mate 20 Pro also comes with a 24 MP selfie camera, an on-screen fingerprint sensor, and it has an IP68 rating, which means it is water and dust resistant to a certain degree.
