McDonald’s fans rejoice—the beloved Snack Wraps are coming back, starting with the new McCrispy Strips. Tested in North Carolina, these crispy chicken strips are part of a broader menu revival expected to roll out nationwide in 2025.
McDonald’s Teases the Return of Snack Wraps and McCrispy Strips, Expanding Its Popular Chicken Lineup
McDonald’s has long been synonymous with chicken; nearly half of its menu is dedicated to the popular fast-food staple. Known for its crispy fried chicken, which has become a signature offering, McDonald's continues to entice customers with a wide array of chicken options, from fried chicken to nuggets and sandwiches.
One of the latest menu additions, the Chicken Big Mac, is generating buzz, but it’s not the only chicken item making waves. For those who missed the Snack Wraps, a former fan favorite, there's good news—according to reliable sources, McDonald's is bringing them back. The key ingredient of the Snack Wrap, the chicken strips, is already returning, starting with the introduction of the new McCrispy Strips, per Fast Food Club.
For those unfamiliar, the McCrispy Strips feature a chicken breast rolled in a crispy batter and fried to achieve the perfect crunch. Served with a choice of dipping sauces, the strips were initially tested at select locations in Hickory, North Carolina, in July. While there’s no official nationwide release date yet, plans are underway for a potential rollout in 2025. Until then, McDonald’s offers a variety of chicken options to satisfy cravings.
The return of the Snack Wrap is eagerly anticipated, particularly among those who remember its peak popularity in 2013. The Snack Wrap originally debuted in 2004 in Poland, where it was designed for health-conscious customers. By 2006, McDonald’s tested the Snack Wrap in the U.S. By 2013, it had expanded to include various options, such as the Bacon, Ranch, and Sweet Chili Wrap. Each came with grilled or crispy chicken, catering to a broad audience looking for a lighter option among McDonald's offerings.
