McDonald's is set to launch its groundbreaking "Fry-Thru" - a world-first giant fries restaurant in Sydney's Darling Harbour, just in time for the FIFA Women's World Cup 2023. The fast-food titan plans to offer unique limited-edition sauces, honoring participating countries and creating an unforgettable gastronomic experience for football fans worldwide.
As per UK's Daily Mail, McDonald's Australia is inaugurating the fries restaurant outlet at the Tumbalong Park in Darling Harbour. The opening day has been set for Thursday, July 20.
Customers of McDonald's will be able to get medium french fries at the store, and they have the option to get the side with limited-edition sauces, which are the Macca's Outback BBQ Sauce and Wasabi-flavoured Mayo Sauce. It was revealed that these special sauces were made to honor the participating countries at the upcoming FIFA Women's World Cup 2023.
McDonald's customers and football fans may order fries and other food items at the "Fry-Thru," a store built like a giant fries packet. Customers can walk through the Macca's fries packet to get their orders.
Moreover, to mark the start of the football season in the country, people will also be treated to many other interactive experiences inside the McDonald's Fry-Thru. One of the experiences to enjoy is the range of exhibits on display just outside of the stadiums across Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth.
"We are excited to create unforgettable experiences for fans across the country at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2023," McDonald's Australia's brand manager, David Morris, said in a statement. "Based in Darling Harbour, our giant Macca's Fries, also known as the Fry-Thru, is the perfect spot for all football fans to come together to fuel up on our iconic Fries before or after a game."
He added, "We look forward to bringing people together and uniting fans from across the world through our shared love of football and Macca's."
Campaign Brief reported that the interactive experiences that will take place across Australia were locally developed by Akcelo. The opening of the world's first giant Macca's Fries restaurant and the FIFA Women's World Cup are happening on the same day this week.
