Meghan Markle and Prince Harry could have rectified one glaring issue that the royal family is facing at the moment, one royal expert claimed.

Meghan Markle, Prince Harry’s Royal Exit Caused a Stir

Although many people believe that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s decision was in the best interests of the Royal Family, one expert believes that if they had stayed, they might have helped enhance the Firm's reputation among the younger generation.

It can be recalled that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex decided to step down as senior royals at the start of 2020, even opting to leave the U.K. entirely and settle in America. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry currently live in California with their two young children, living a completely different life than they did a few years ago.

Former top Canadian royal writer Bonnie Brownlee stated the Royal Family must address the legacy of the monarchy throughout the Commonwealth, something the Sussexes could have assisted with. "Meghan could have been extremely helpful [to the Royal Family] especially in the Commonwealth... there are a lot of millennials around the world in the Commonwealth nations,” she said during the latest episode of the Royal Beat, as per Express UK.

"I think Harry and Meghan would have been highly successful, and sometimes I think they didn’t realize how powerful they already were before they moved to Los Angeles. They could have brought a great deal of openness, fairness and change,” Bonnie continued.

On the most recent episode, royal historian and “After Elizabeth: Can the Monarchy Save Itself?” Dr. Ed Owen argues that the Royal Family is currently dealing with a "youth problem" that has to be addressed. "The King and the monarchy have something of a youth problem in that the popularity of monarchy is declining among the younger generations in the UK. He needs to kick start a conversation about what the monarchy is going to do over the next 10 or 20 years and how it reaches out to that younger generation," he said.

"The King has at his fingertips all the expertise he needs to rebrand the monarchy for the middle of the 21st century, but I think he needs to look past some of those advisors currently at his ear, to a new cast of faces who could help reboot the institution,” Ed went on.

Prince Harry Went ‘Rogue’ Prior to This Announcement

Meanwhile, a close pal of the Duke of Sussex claimed Prince Harry went "rogue" while discussing the first-ever launch of the Invictus Games. David Wiseman, a director of the Invictus Games Foundation and a longtime friend of the Duke of Sussex, spoke on HELLO!'s “A Right Royal Podcast” and discussed how the royal was inspired to start the Invictus Games after attending the Warrior Games, an event in the United States for injured service people and veterans.

"The morning after, we were sitting in a hotel in Colorado, reflecting on what we’d just seen. We were sitting down at breakfast, it wasn’t a meeting or anything like that, and Harry said, 'Look, this is absolutely brilliant, what we’ve seen here is absolutely brilliant. What we need to do is internationalize this,” David divulged.

"We need to invite allies and nations from all over the world, we’re going to put it in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, it needs to be on the BBC, this is going to be massive, we’ll have a closing concert. He could see it before anyone else could,” he furthered.

David Wiseman described Prince Harry as a “visionary” from the very beginning. However, he also recalled the time when the husband of Meghan Markle went “rogue” when announcing the game’s launch in 2013. "We didn’t realize the time frame that he made in mind. Bearing in mind that was May 2013, we went back to the Warrior Games that afternoon, and he stood on stage at the podium, and I think it had been written in his speech, that vision to say, ’Look, we’d like to do this,' I think he’d added his own note that said 'next year,’” he explained.

"He went rogue! We were like, 'What? Next year?' For a long time, there were three or four of us at the Royal Foundation managing this project. September 2014, we were there, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, it might have been by the skin of our teeth but we were there!" David continued.

In the end, Prince Harry and his team succeeded, and the Invictus Games were established in 2014, with Jill Biden attending as a US delegate and the Foo Fighters performing at the closing concert.
