As something of a homecoming game to the PlayStation platform, Monster Hunter: World is one of the highest anticipated games coming to the PlayStation 4. New trailers for the game just came out and they feature the 14 weapon types that players can use once it comes out. Fans of the franchise will likely already know some of these, but newcomers are in for a treat.
Each weapon was given its own trailer to showcase exactly what they can do. Naturally, each would have its own strength and weaknesses, but there’s nothing like seeing them in action to give players an idea of which would suit their fighting style best. These trailers are also part of a series of teasers that Capcom has been doing in order to drum up interest in the game, PC Gamer reports.
The weapons themselves are pretty much the standard fare in modern Monster Hunter games. In no particular order, these would be; the Bow, the Charge Blade, the Dual Blades, the Great Sword, the Gunlance, the Hammer, the Heavy Bowgun, the Hunting Horn, the Insect Glaive, the Lance, the Light Bowgun, the Long Sword, the Switch Axe, and the Sword and Shield.
For newbies, it’s worth noting that everything in this franchise comes in huge sizes. The bow is twice bigger than the characters when fully assembled and the arrows are practically ballistae. The same goes for everything else, which makes sense since players are hunting huge monsters.
PlayStation Lifestyle offers a pretty comprehensive list of what these weapons can do and how they are meant to be used. It’s likely that this game is not going to be to everyone’s taste, but for longtime Monster Hunter fans, they are the tools of the trade. It’s all bound to make the early 2018 release of the game for both the PS4 and the Xbox One an exciting one.
