The Monster Hunter series is known for the longevity of its games and a huge reason for this are the free updates and contents provided to players. Monster Hunter World is no different, with its March update coming with some sweet changes and additions. Among them is Deviljho, which is a highly anticipated monster, and the developers addressing the issue of “griefing.”
While there are arguably a lot of things about MHW to love, there can always be more reasons to have fun with the game. Capcom recently announced what will be added or changed in the game with its latest update, listing new monsters, events, weapons, and gameplay tweaks.
Aside from the presence of Deviljho, which is classified as a Brute Wyvern that will yield specific parts for creating special armor, there will also be a Spring Blossom Fest. This event is the game’s first seasonal fair, which is actually timed to last only a few days.
Some new weapons and gear will also be making their way into MHW, including a Palico armor that will make them look like pixelated Mega Man and a brand new great sword. Speaking of which, some of the game’s weapons have also been tweaked a bit, boosting the damage caused by some and adjusting balance in others.
As Polygon notes, however, one of the best parts of the update has to do with the annoying habit of bad players to perform “griefing” on others. This is basically where players interrupt the harvesting or skinning process of others by throwing bombs or attacking them. This can result in losses of materials due to the 60-second time limit imposed in the feature.
Capcom addressed the issue by removing this ability. Now, players can no longer interrupt other players when they need to carve parts from the monster they just slew.
“Attacks from allies no longer interrupt you during the carving animation. Additionally, players are now immune to all hit reactions, including bombs, during carving animations after quest completion,” the company wrote.
