As the NBA season 2019-20 completes it the first couple of months, the “NBA 2K20” overall player ratings have been adjusted several times with some of the players moving up the ladder and others lose a point or two. But with the real-life league moving forward, the ratings on the video game now have more meaning as early talks on the MVP favorites emerge.
‘NBA 2K20’ ratings update no. 3: Lakers’ LeBron James, Anthony Davis join top picks for early potential MVP list
2K Games announced the complete list of new overall ratings on “NBA 2K20.” It has now been followed by a list of the top 5 players with the potential of being named MVP based on their latest ranking in the game.
The highest overall rating is still at 97, which was given to LeBron James right at the start of “NBA 2K20.” He was initially sharing the no. 1 spot with Kawhi Leonard, but the Clippers star received a -1 in the video game rankings. Joining James now at the top is reigning NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo after the developer gave him a +1 in the Dec. 6 ratings updates. Antetokounmpo’s MVP rival, James Harden, also got a rating bump and his number is now at 97 as well.

James’s teammate, Anthony Davis, did not see any changes in his “NBA 2K20” overall ratings of 95, but it was enough for him to be included in the developers’ bet for the next MVP. Note also that the choice of including Davis in the list is could partially have something to do with him being the currently featured athlete of the game.
‘NBA 2K20’ December ratings update star is no less than Luka Doncic
The highlight of the latest “NBA 2K20” ratings update has to be Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks. The 20-year-old sophomore received a +3 on his overall rating moving up to 96 and getting a place in the game’s top picks for possible season 2019-20 MVP. Basketball fans may have different opinions on Doncic, but his stats on his second year in the NBA should be enough to shut down the doubters.
He recently joined a very short list of NBA players averaging at least 25 points per game at 20 years old joining James and Kevin Durant in this record. Doncic currently averages 30.0 points, 9.2 assists, and 9.8 rebounds per game. The Slovenian player has also made headlines recently for surpassing Michael Jordan’s record and become the first-ever NBA player to put in at least 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists in 19 consecutive games.
