The real NBA season may have been postponed indefinitely, but that has not stopped avid fans from keeping up with their favorite sport. With “NBA 2K20,” basketball fans can simulate what would happen for the remainder of the regular season.
‘NBA 2K20’ simulation names first 6 teams to enter 2019-20 playoffs
“NBA 2K20” publisher 2K Games has arranged events hosted on streaming platforms to simulate the scheduled games affected by the postponement of NBA season 2019-20 due to coronavirus. In the latest simulated team standings, six teams have been named as certain playoffs contenders this season.
The Milwaukee Bucks has secured its spot even in the real league after dominating the Eastern Conference. On the other hand, the “NBA 2K20” sim has also named the Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers as the only two teams that earned tickets to playoffs at this point.

The Eastern Conference standings show a clearer list of which teams will make it to playoffs based on the “NBA 2K20” sim. Joining the Bucks are Toronto Raptors, Boston Celtics, and Miami Heat respectively. The sim standings for the Western Conference suggest it might be early to call it as teams in the 3rd through 7th places – Denver Nuggets, Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets, Utah Jazz, and Dallas Mavericks – have close W-L records.
‘NBA 2K20’: How the basketball sim has been affected by the NBA’s indefinite suspension
NBA officials announced that season 2019-20 has been postponed for at least 30 days starting on March 11, just before the tip-off between the Jazz and Thunder. The decision was made after one player tested positive for coronavirus.

The suspension of the real games had an inadvertent effect on some segments of “NBA 2K20.” The basketball sim allows gamers to build their won franchise and enter the league, but other game modes also depend on scheduled NBA games.
Shortly after it was announced that NBA games have been postponed, gamers reported having issues when accessing MyLeague. “The suspension of play had an unintended effect on the MyLeague Start Today mode. The issue has since been resolved,” 2K Sports said on Monday (via Polygon).
