Reggie Lee has been confirmed to join the cast of “NCIS: New Orleans” season 5. But fans can expect his character to be the newest work rival Agent Pride (Scott Bakula) will have to deal with in several operations.
Deadline reports that Lee is going to take on the major recurring role of Assistant Special Agent in Charge Steven Thompson. Even though Thompson and Pride are essentially working for the same agency, they believe in different strategies, which will ignite a rivalry between them.
According to the report, Agent Thompson will not agree with how Agent Pride delineates his team’s work and priority missions. Fans who have been watching the show will agree that Agent Pride often has a bizarre approach with their work, which has put Agent Pride in disagreement with his squad in previous episodes. So it is interesting to see how Thompson is going to affect Pride’s work in “NCIS: New Orleans” season 5.
Agent Pride is not one to appreciate being micromanaged by other ranking officials. And if Agent Thompson is going to be all over Agent Pride’s work, fans might find the character going off the book again. If that happens, will this lead to getting Agent Pride penalized or suspended in “NCIS: New Orleans” season 5?
While this is Lee’s first time stepping onto the “NCIS: New Orleans” set, he is very familiar with portraying a character in the law enforcement. The latest addition to the “NCIS: New Orleans” season 5 cast is also known for playing one of the main roles in “Grimm” seasons 1 to 6, Sgt. Drew Wu.
Having new faces on the show is going to be good news for the fans considering that the show had to let go of one of its beloved characters. It can be recalled that fans of the show witnessed the departure of Agent Sonja Percy (Shalita Grant) before “NCIS: New Orleans” season 5.
Apart from dealing with Agent Thompson, Agent Pride is also recovering from a potentially fatal shot in season 4. So going back to work and meeting Agent Thompson will most likely be a pain for Pride as “NCIS: New Orleans” season 5 premieres on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 10 p.m. ET on CBS.
