“NCIS” Season 16 Episode 13 will continue on the shaky relationship between the team and the secretary of defense. The mid-season finale saw Wynn Crawford (Mitch Pileggi) berating the squad by bending the rules to get results.
While Crawford seemingly had a change of heart after the episode, he’s actually planning something big. He has ordered Agent Clark (Scott William Winters) to fetch for him all the intel he has gathered so far, although he didn’t provide specifics on the matter. It’s already been speculated that a major event will be taking place this installment and Clark will play an integral role in it. In the meantime, the synopsis of “NCIS” Season 16 Episode 13 reads that the team will be looking into a cold case that was abandoned years ago, Express reported.
The case in question involves a Navy recruit that mysteriously disappeared. The investigation will be reopened when the team discovers a nine-year-old girl hiding in a storage unit. She’s speculated to be the daughter of the said recruit. What’s more, “NCIS” Season 16 Episode 13 will feature Ziva David (Cote de Pablo), a former NCIS agent who’s supposedly been killed by a mortar attack in Israel.
While the show’s lore is declaring David as deceased, her death didn’t actually happen on screen. This got fans speculating that the agent might make a reappearance in “NCIS” Season 16 Episode 13. However, Pablo isn’t currently listed on the IMDB credits for the midseason premiere so the chances of her return are infinitesimally small.
As such, David’s involvement may only be through the notes she collected on the abovementioned case, nothing more. Returning to Crawford and Clark’s sketchy exchange, it seems that the two is working together to get the team in hot waters, Entertainment Weekly reported. Both characters have already been hinted as shady individuals and their motives appear to be that of self-interest rather than doing their duty. Whatever the case, fans will know what Crawford is planning on “NCIS” Season 16 Episode 13 when it airs on Feb. 5.
