Another day, another murder to be solved. But the case in “NCIS” season 16 episode 6 will be quite different, especially for Torres (Wilmer Valderrama), who personally knows the victim.
The brief preview for “NCIS” season 16 episode 6 shows Torres and Gibbs (Mark Harmon) examining a crime scene. It appears that someone will be shot and killed inside a convenience store’s bathroom stall. While the trailer does not show much about the case, the official synopsis reveals that the next case will hit close to home for Torres.
The former deep undercover agent will recognize the victim in “NCIS” season 16 episode 6 as his friend whom he met at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center. The viewers are more familiar with this as FLETC since all the NCIS probies go there to complete their training before becoming full-fledged field agents.
Previous events in this police procedural series showed that some of the characters have established great friendships while in FLETC. And in an earlier episode, the viewers saw Torres having a hard time moving on from Reeves’s (Duane Henry) death. It is interesting how he will handle another death of a friend in “NCIS” season 16 episode 6.
"Perhaps it's... supernatural..." ???? Even the #NCIS team is ready for Halloween. Don't miss the new episode, Tuesday at 8/7c! pic.twitter.com/R3n33tDONQ

Meanwhile, the video teaser for “NCIS” season 16 episode 6 also shows the Halloween special will give Jimmy (Brian Dietzen) the creeps. He finds one of the bodies in the autopsy moved to a different cooler “by itself.” In another scene, Jimmy tells Torres about it and suggests it is “supernatural.”
“NCIS” season 16 episode 6 is obviously this season’s Halloween special and it is going to be the franchise’s first without Abby (Pauley Perrette). Unfortunately for Jimmy, no one else will likely support his supernatural theory with Abby being gone.
In the latest episode of #NCIS, the team hopes to exonerate a Marine from a life sentence - 48 years after the fact... It's never too late for justice to be served. ⚖️ In case you missed it, stream the full episode here: https://t.co/J9Rv47Ivjx pic.twitter.com/fDQCt91zSa

It is interesting that the past couple of episodes seems to have one particular character in the limelight. For example, episode 5 was somehow focused on McGee (Sean Murray) and how his emotional connection to a war veteran helped their case. “NCIS” season 16 episode 6 is obviously going to be about Torres, and teasers for episode 7 confirm that Bishop (Emily Wickersham) is next.
“NCIS” season 16 episode 6 is titled “Beneath the Surface” and directed by another series regular, Rocky Carroll. New episodes air every Tuesday, at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
