Netmarble, a leading mobile game developer in South Korea, is set to release new and exciting major titles within the first half of this year. The company also unveiled its ambitious plans for this year, including adapting a popular Korean fantasy drama into a video game.
New “Arthdal Chronicles” Game
According to The Korea Times, Netmarble is set to release the first role-playing game title in its lineup in April. The company’s “Arthdal Chronicles: Three Factions” is said to be the most anticipated game. As suggested in its title, it is the game spinoff of the popular drama “Arthdal Chronicles,” which originally starred Song Joong Ki and Kim Jiwon—the first season aired in 2019.
In any case, Netmarble’s “Arthdal Chronicles: Three Factions” is said to be a massive, large-scale multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG). It was created with Studio Dragon, which produced the original drama.
The “Arthdal Chronicles” game will be available in PC and mobile gaming formats. It will simultaneously launch in South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macao.
Adapting K-Drama Into Mobile Game
BNN Breaking reported that transforming from a blockbuster TV drama series into an MMORPG is impressive. It is a big feat because “Arthdal Chronicles: Three Factions” is not a simple game.
The title is expected to offer drama fans and game enthusiasts a different kind of immersive experience that will bring them into the fictional world of Arthdal. Gamers will have a chance to explore rich landscapes and encounter familiar characters.
Netmarble said that the game’s narrative complements the drama’s original storyline. Finally, the developer said the new game is now a mere spinoff of the “Arthdal Chronicles” drama series. Still, it is a gateway leading to a meticulously crafted universe that players will be in awe of.
